The Bachelor Auction and Ball are held in the evening, following the Wilderness Woman Contest. Only single ladies 21 years of age and older and members of the Society are allowed inside the auction room. Marne Gunderson
and Nick Condon will emcee the Auction. From the get-go, the bachelors attempt, with
varying degrees of success, to impress the ladies with their talent and
style. Winning bidders are entitled to a photo, a drink and a dance
with their bachelor — anything else is strictly up to the parties
involved. After the Auction, during the Bachelor Ball,
the Wilderness Woman is crowned. While the auction allows only women to watch the bachedlors, the Ball is open to anyone old enough
to participate — up to the limit of the dance floor.
Women can preview the eligible bachelors in our Male Order Catalog,
which includes a tongue-in-cheek biography and photo of all the 2012-2013
members. The catalog is available for purchase from the Society and
from select businesses in town starting in late November.
Be sure to bring your dancing shoes to this year’s festivities. There will be a huge DJ'd After Party, the Bachelor Ball, at the Sheldon Community Arts Hanger, and TBA Musician(s)/Band will keep the party going at the Bachelors’ Other Ball, across the street at the Fairview Inn.
Late night hunger? The Talkeetna Roadhouse will serve food all night.
Advanced tickets for the Bachelor Auction & Ball available online at Denali Arts Council. |
